
It’s time to celebrate those who have fought the battle against colon cancer and won. June 3 was National Cancer Survivor Day, so take a moment to honor those who have overcome the third-leading cause of death in the United States.
Colon cancer is the is the second leading cause of cancer when sexes are combined and third deadliest when men and women are considered separately, but it’s one of the few cancers that is actually preventable with regular colonoscopies. It’s also 90 percent treatable when caught early. Colonoscopies are truly life-saving procedures, spotting and removing colon polyps before they develop into cancer.
